Week 7

Hey,
Sorry I didn't have as much time last p-day as I thought I did:( so I hope y'all are doing well! So I have a story about last week. It was Friday and we decided to go see a less active (she is less active because she is in a rest home) she is 92 years old it was good to get to know her (sister Bone) she was happy to see us. We talked about all her family and about her life. we felt really good about this visit. The Spirit was so strong, she cried and even walked us to the entrance. Sister Mcfarlane and I both thought everything went how it was suppose to go and everything was good but the next morning we got a call from her. We asked her how she was and she said I'm not ok. I had a bad experience. I don't want you all to come or send any one else. We asked her what happened and she said that if we come back she will call the police and have us arrested hen she hung up. We were so baffled! We had no clue what happened but what we did know is it did not feel good. We felt like something horrible had happened. The sad thing about it is we can't do much about it but we can pray for her.

So last week we taught Tammy about the word of wisdom. (Tammy has a smoking habit) we asked her to bring her cigarettes. She said she only had one left so she brought it out along with her lighter. So as we explained to Tammy that we loved her and how the word of wisdom will bring blessing from The Lord Sister Mcfarlane ripped up her last cigarette. It was hard for Tammy, but we believe she can over come it. After this lesson with Tammy we pulled into a parking lot and we ran over her lighter.

So conference was really great! Guess what talk was my favorite? It was Presidents Uchtdorfs. It is so true! There is light and dark as members we sometimes are between the doorframe. We are in the light but a lot of the time we don't understand the extent of how much warmth we can receive from the light.

It is kind of crazy how much perspective we receive on a mission. I feel like I am standing on the out skits and I can see a lot more then I did before. I can see all of these hard trials that these investigators or even people on the streets go through and it's hard! I am so grateful for all of the great blessings I have! To be born in the church, to have that strong foundation of our Lord Jesus Christ!

Love
Sister Chidester
